About the Role

We are seeking a skilled professional to join our team as a Family Violence Practitioner. This role will involve supporting individuals affected by family violence, assessing their needs, and providing information and referrals to external service providers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support Affected Family Members during their court process, using your knowledge of family violence to provide effective assistance.
  • Conduct risk assessments, safety planning, and provide applicants with relevant information and referrals as needed.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including Judiciary, Court Registrars, and community-based organisations.
Requirements
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in a related therapeutic discipline, such as social work, psychology, or social sciences.
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of family violence, including drivers, risks, and issues that can exacerbate family violence risk.
  • Sound skills in support provision, crisis containment, and risk assessment, as well as stakeholder engagement.
