Job Title: Rotary Wing Pilot

About the Role:

  • As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading high-stakes aeromedical, SAR & police response operations in Tasmania's challenging environment.
  • Support life-saving missions while maintaining a healthy work-life balance with a 4/4 roster.
  • As Rotary Wing Pilot-in-Command (PIC), you will serve as the vital link in Tasmania's health and Police network, prioritizing the well-being and safety of all staff, aircrew, passengers, and patients.
  • Implement and actively participate in the safety management system, workplace health and safety system, and risk management system.
  • Ensure the currency of identified items nearing expiry and bring them to the attention of the relevant manager.
  • Maintain the serviceability and regular maintenance of issued personal protective equipment and tools required for flight or ground operations.
  • Participate in and successfully complete all operational, safety, fitness, and training sessions, including government contractual requirements.
  • Undergo necessary training for current and new business tasks and assist in mentoring non-company staff where necessary.
  • Collaborate with media and public relations teams to foster goodwill with the public at all times.

About You:

  • Hold an Air Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL) or Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) with ATPL subjects.
  • Have a valid Certificate of Instrument Rating (CIR MEH) with minimum three renewals (Instrument Proficiency Checks).
  • Be fully vaccinated against Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis, and Hepatitis B.
  • Hold a Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (WRVP) in Tasmania.
  • Accumulate >2500 hours of helicopter experience.
  • Amass >2000 hours of PIC helicopter experience.
  • Gain >1500 hours of PIC turbine helicopter experience.
  • Accrue >100 hours under Instrument Flight Rules (IFR).
  • Log >100 hours of Night Unaided Flying Experience.
  • Hold a Class 1 Medical Certificate.
  • Obtain a Dangerous Goods Certificate.
  • Possess HUET/EBS (Helicopter Underwater Escape Training/Emergency Breathing System) qualification.
  • Have previous Search and Rescue/Airborne Law Enforcement (SAR/ALE) experience.
