We're looking for a highly skilled professional to play a strategic role in achieving grid connections.

About the Role

This position involves ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of grid connections from development through to construction. The successful candidate will have strong technical knowledge of the Australian Grid at DNSP and TNSP levels, as well as the ability to negotiate with NSPs and AEMO to achieve timely grid connection approvals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with project development, identifying factors influencing grid connections.
  • Manage and submit grid applications to DNSPs and TNSPs, ensuring timely progress through NSPs and AEMO processes.
  • Negotiate with NSPs and AEMO to achieve timely grid connection approvals.
  • Manage review process for grid connection offers to meet our requirements.
  • Create and maintain framework agreements with ICPs and equipment suppliers to ensure delivery capacity at appropriate commercial terms.
  • Play a strategic role in developing standardised arrangements for grid connections that reduce installation time and cost.
  • Provide technical assistance to project managers and introduce departmental procedures to support grid connection applications.
  • Represent the Grid Department at relevant meetings and events.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in a similar role.
  • Strong technical knowledge of the Australian Grid at DNSP and TNSP levels.
  • Knowledge and capability of dealing with AEMO.
  • Mentor Engineers/Senior Engineers to develop skills in Grid connection space.

A degree in Electrical and/or Power Engineering is ideal but not essential. We're looking for a highly experienced professional who can hit the ground running.
