Job Opportunity: Molecular Haematology Fellow

This role presents a unique chance to contribute fully to departmental activities under the guidance of the Discipline Medical Director – Haematology.

  • Education and research activities are key components of this position, requiring collaboration with other staff members at all levels.
  • Clinical support and mentorship of junior clinical and/or scientific staff is an essential aspect of the job.
Responsibilities:

The incumbent will be responsible for undertaking regular assessment and performance review, meeting mandatory training requirements, and adhering to defined service quality standards, health and safety policies and procedures.

A competitive salary package includes base salary, vocational training subsidy, professional development leave, five weeks annual leave, and 12.75% superannuation.

Qualifications and Registration:

To be eligible for this role, applicants must hold an MBBS or equivalent qualification and be registrable with the Medical Board of Australia. Additionally, they must be eligible for fellowship with the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia in Haematology within six months prior to commencing in the role.

Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) and Covid Vaccination requirements apply to this role. The employee will be expected to remain vaccinated against one or more of the following diseases during their employment: Hepatitis B, Measles, Mumps, Pertussis, Rubella, and Varicella.

About You:

We are seeking individuals who can demonstrate academic achievement and interest in Molecular Haematology, proven ability to succeed in medical examinations, interpersonal skills, and ability to communicate clearly and concisely in both spoken and written English.

Candidates must also be willing to participate in teaching and supervision of Junior Medical Staff, Medical Students, and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
