The role of a Scientist involves performing complex and specialized diagnostic and therapeutic testing.

This includes diverse tasks such as newborn screening services, therapeutic drug monitoring, trace element analysis, metabolic disease profiling, steroid hormones, vitamins, porphyrins and biogenic amine analysis.

This requires knowledge of Chemical Pathology testing and its role in clinical medicine.Knowledge, skills and expertise in analytical methods and instruments relevant to chemical pathology is also necessary.

  • Key competencies include knowledge of Chemical Pathology testing, knowledge and skills in analytical methods and instruments, knowledge of Pathology testing and its diagnostic, therapeutic and monitoring role in disease and health.
Qualifications
  • A Bachelor of Science degree or an equivalent qualification is required for this position.

In addition to the above qualifications, it is desirable but not essential for applicants to have professional association membership (e.g. AACB, AIMS).
