Our organization is seeking an accomplished Design Manager to lead the design and delivery of major commercial projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the design process across multiple complex commercial projects, ensuring timely completion and high-quality results.
  • Coordinate and manage external consultants, guaranteeing compliance with project briefs, regulatory codes, and buildability requirements.
  • Act as the primary liaison between clients, consultants, and internal project teams on all design matters, facilitating effective communication and collaboration.
  • Identify design risks, provide technical advice, and offer innovative, cost-effective solutions to drive business success.
  • Collaborate closely with estimating, delivery, and site teams to align design with construction methodology and program objectives.
  • Foster a collaborative, solutions-focused culture among stakeholders, promoting open communication and a shared commitment to excellence.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Design Manager or Senior Design Manager on commercial building projects (healthcare, education, institutional, mixed-use, or similar).
  • A solid understanding of construction methodology, contracts, and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to lead, mentor, and inspire others.
  • A proactive, collaborative approach, with a focus on buildability, value, and quality.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in construction, architecture, engineering, or a related field.
