Design Project Manager

The role of Design Project Manager is a crucial one, requiring expertise, leadership, and collaboration to drive the design and delivery of major commercial projects forward. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire design process from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design process to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of commercial projects, while maintaining high standards of quality and buildability.
  • Coordinate and manage relationships with external design consultants, ensuring compliance with project briefs, codes, and statutory requirements.
  • Act as the primary liaison between clients, architects, consultants, and internal teams on all design matters, fostering open communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Identify potential design risks and provide technical advice to mitigate them, offering innovative and cost-effective solutions that meet client needs and expectations.
  • Collaborate closely with our estimating, delivery, and site teams to ensure seamless alignment between design and construction methodologies, resulting in efficient and effective project outcomes.
About You:
  • You have a proven track record of success as a Design Manager or Senior Design Manager on large-scale commercial building projects, preferably within the health, education, institutional, mixed-use, or similar sectors.
  • You possess a deep understanding of construction methodology, D&C contracts, and relevant regulatory requirements, enabling you to navigate complex projects with confidence.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills are essential for this role, as you will need to lead, mentor, and inspire others to achieve outstanding results.
  • A proactive and collaborative approach is vital, focusing on delivering value, quality, and buildability that meets and exceeds client expectations.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in construction, architecture, engineering, or a related field are highly desirable.
