
Financial Services Risk Management Specialist

We are seeking experienced professionals to join our Sydney and Melbourne Financial Services Risk Management (FSRM) team.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in risk management, with experience in one or more of the following areas: risk culture, conduct and compliance; regulatory and risk reporting; financial crime; financial risk - credit, market, funding and/or liquidity risk; operational risk – general or in a technical area such as AI, data, technology and records risk; regulation and prudential supervision.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, a high level of drive and initiative, and a degree in finance, commerce, law, STEM or similar, with post-graduate qualifications or additional study viewed favorably.
Key Responsibilities:- Managing engagements and producing deliverables on time and to required quality standards.
- Working directly with clients to understand their business models, financial structures, and specific risk exposures.
- Evaluation of client financial and non-financial risks, including credit risk, market risk, liquidity risk and a wide range of operational risks.
- Providing risk and regulatory advice to clients, including requirements of regulators such as APRA, ASIC and AUSTRAC.
- Designing risk management frameworks for clients to enhance their approaches to risk management.
- Conducting due diligence assessments to vet risks involved in mergers, acquisitions or other business transactions.
- Developing and implementing technology solutions to enable efficient risk management and new insight.
- Delivering training, workshops and seminars to educate clients on risk management best practices and emerging trends.
- Contributing to thought leadership and helping to develop EY's global strategy to life.
We are looking for candidates with excellent communication and analytical skills, who can work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
A strong understanding of risk management principles and regulations is essential, as well as experience working with clients in the financial services industry.
Candidates should also have excellent problem-solving skills and be able to think creatively to develop innovative solutions to complex problems.
