Senior Environmental Consultant

About the Role:
Mining industry professionals with a strong background in environmental management are sought after by MEC Mining. As a Senior Environmental Consultant, you will be working closely with our team to deliver high-quality environmental services to our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate multiple technical studies to ensure timely completion and high-quality results.
- Prepare and compile environmental technical studies, including Environmental Impact Assessments and other reports, for clients.
- Coordinate and prepare mine rehabilitation and closure planning documents.
- Research and interpret legislative requirements and processes to ensure compliance.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to achieve project goals.
- Administer contracts and scopes of work with other consultants and contractors.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key project contacts.
Requirements:
- At least 5-6 years of experience in an environmental field, preferably in the mining industry.
- Contemporary knowledge of Commonwealth, Queensland, and Northern Territory environmental legislation and approvals processes.
- Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- A high level of computer literacy and experience with Microsoft Office.
- Efficient time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
- Proven record of self-managing projects.
- Strong analytical and strategic capabilities.
- Formal qualifications in environmental management, science, or engineering disciplines.
