Senior Environmental Consultant

About the Role:
Mining Environmental Expert is required to join our expanding Brisbane-based team at MEC Mining. We are a consultancy that provides integrated mining and geotechnical engineering, geology, and environmental services to clients throughout Australia and globally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Scope and manage multiple technical studies to ensure compliance with environmental legislation and approvals processes.
- Prepare, compile, and edit environmental technical studies, deliver Environmental Impact Assessments, and other technical and advisory reports for clients.
- Coordinate and prepare mine rehabilitation and closure planning documents to ensure a sustainable future for our clients.
- Research and interpret legislative requirements and processes to stay up-to-date with industry developments.
- Work within multidisciplinary teams to meet specified project goals and deliver high-quality results.
- Administer contracts and scopes of work with other consultants and contractors to ensure seamless project delivery.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key project contacts to foster a collaborative and supportive work environment.
Qualifications & Experience Required:
- At least 5-6 years of experience in an environmental field, with exposure to the mining industry.
- Contemporary knowledge of Commonwealth, Queensland, and Northern Territory environmental legislation and approvals processes.
- Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with attention to detail in all aspects of work.
- A high level of computer literacy and experience with Microsoft Office package.
- Ability to work autonomously, have a good sense of humour, and work effectively within a team.
- Proven record of self-managing projects and delivering high-quality results.
- Strong analytical ability and strategic capability to deliver for our projects as assigned.
- Formal qualifications in environmental management, science, or engineering disciplines are required.
