Make a Difference for Students in NSW

About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity to lead the strategic vision and program operations of our Student Support Services branch. Our team assists HSC students across NSW by approving disability provisions needed to access and respond to their exams. As the Head of Programs, you will provide executive, logistical, leadership and strategic support to the branch manager and the branch.

On a day-to-day basis, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing strategic and tactical support to the implementation of branch programs.
  • Managing and developing branch contributions to NESA committee or Board papers, ministerial correspondence, and tribunal responses.
  • Evaluating branch processes and providing expert advice and information to the Manager and Director on emerging project and operational issues.
  • Managing stakeholder relationships through effective communication, negotiation, and issues management.
  • Leading the development and delivery of projects, identifying interdependencies and leveraging resources to achieve required outcomes.
  • Developing and implementing strategies and tools for the monitoring and evaluation of branch programs.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Provide executive, logistical, leadership and strategic support to the branch manager and the branch.
  • Manage complex issues and matters related to branch governance, program development, and direct report team members.
  • Develop and deliver projects that identify interdependencies and leverage resources to achieve required outcomes.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who has experience in leading high-volume program management and similar contexts. You should have:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A well-developed ability to research and analyse information.
  • Experience using and adapting to information and communication technologies.
  • Public sector experience highly valued.
