As a Mental Health Officer, you will play a vital role in supporting the wellbeing of individuals within an Older Adult Mental Health Service. Working closely with Occupational Therapists and Clinical staff, you will be responsible for assisting in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of therapeutic programs at Normanby House.

About the Role
  • Assist consumers with daily living skills, therapy programs and diversional activities, ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met.
  • Develop and implement group activities under senior staff supervision, promoting social interaction and engagement among consumers.
  • Collaborate with consumers and their families to create individually tailored care plans, addressing their unique needs and goals.
Key Requirements
  • Prior experience working within Mental Health or a strong interest in mental health and well-being is essential.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, are required to build strong relationships with consumers and colleagues.
  • Good organisational and time management skills, as well as computer literacy, are necessary for success in this role.
