Job Overview

The ideal candidate will provide high-quality learning support to students with additional needs, including those with disabilities and English language learners. This role is perfect for an experienced educator seeking a new challenge in a supportive and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialist assistance to students in regular classes with additional learning and support needs and their teachers.
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) to improve learning outcomes for students with additional needs.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to create and implement differentiated teaching programs for a diverse range of students.
  • Use data to adjust programs to meet individual needs and contribute to the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD).
  • Support teachers in creating and implementing engaging and inclusive lesson plans that cater to diverse student needs.

Requirements:

  • Approval to teach students with learning and support needs (secondary) and/or experience teaching students with learning and support needs (secondary) in regular classes.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills with a focus on teamwork, effective communication, and building positive relationships with students, colleagues, parents, external agencies, and the wider school community.
  • Demonstrated capacity to work effectively in a team and contribute to the development of a positive and inclusive school culture.
