Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Principal to join our pool of eligible candidates. The successful candidate will be appointed as a Level 3 Principal, responsible for leading and managing the day-to-day operations of various schools across Western Australia.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent leadership and management skills, with experience in school administration and a strong understanding of the School Education Act General Agreement. They will also be able to work effectively in a team environment and demonstrate a commitment to providing high-quality education to students.

School Types:

  • Primary schools with less than 100 students
  • Education Support schools with less than 40 students

Appointment Process:

Directors of Education may consider applicants from the pool to fill short-term principal vacancies up to six months in duration. Qualifications, experience, and location availability will be considered when assessing an applicant's suitability for possible placement.

Candidates may be contacted by a Director of Education to discuss their suitability for a specific vacancy or future opportunities. Referees may also be contacted to verify experience.

Eligibility Criteria:

  1. Currently employed and looking for acting opportunities
  2. Looking to return to the Department for a short-term placement
  3. Looking to start a career in school administration in Western Australia

  • A comprehensive resume including names of two professional referees
  • Evidence of teaching qualification (certificate of completion)
  • Evidence of eligibility to work in Australia (Australian or New Zealand citizenship or Australian work permit)
  • Identification (birth certificate, passport, change of name documentation)
