We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Education Support Assistant to join our team at Morwell Park Primary School. As an Education Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational services provided to students, working collaboratively with teachers and other staff members to ensure the best possible outcomes for our students.
Key Responsibilities- Provide routine support for teachers, including assisting with planning of student routines and supporting communication between teachers and parents.
- Communicate with teachers on routine matters related to students and/or other responsibilities.
- Provide basic physical care and wellbeing support for students, such as toileting, meals, and lifting.
- Communicate with students to support comprehension of basic tasks and information.
- Address immediate behavioural presentations relating to specific students within a classroom setting, aligned to school policy and procedure.
- Provide basic support and supervision for individuals or groups of up to 4 students within a classroom setting.
- Support teachers in the coordination of educational programs, independently or under minimal supervision, including rostering and organising the work of a team of aides.
- Provide medical intervention support to students, under specific conditions, with appropriate training and guidance.
- Provide specialised communication support for students and teachers in areas such as AUSLAN and braille.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- A commitment to providing high-quality support to students and teachers.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Basic knowledge of student support and wellbeing principles.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
