The estimated salary for this role is $120,000 - $150,000 per annum, depending on experience. This is a competitive salary package that includes performance-based bonuses and a comprehensive employee benefits program.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Lead Underground Mine Operations Manager to join our team at Broadmeadow Mine in central Queensland. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of coal mine workers and taking control of activities in one or more Explosion Risk Zones.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Supervising coal mine workers and ensuring compliance with Coal Mining Safety and Health legislation
  • Carrying out inspections of Explosion Risk Zones and assessing safety risks
  • Directing and overseeing personnel, systems, and equipment within the mining zone
  • Complying with and auditing compliance to the Safety and Health Management System for the mine
  • Recording findings of inspections and other activities, and making them available to coal mine workers

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:

  • An underground statutory ticket, including a Deputy's Certificate of Competency in Queensland
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and experience supervising work teams in an underground environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills to build relationships with colleagues and stakeholders
