About the Role
We are seeking experienced Coal Mine Operations Managers to join our team at Broadmeadow Mine in central Queensland. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing coal mine operations, ensuring compliance with safety and health regulations, and driving performance improvements.
You will lead a successful team, providing coaching and mentoring to ensure delivery against performance targets. You will be responsible for statutory reporting to the Underground Mine Manager and all aspects of health and safety in your area.
- Supervise coal mine workers and take control of activities in one or more Explosion Risk Zones for an underground coal mine
- Carry out inspections of an Explosion Risk Zone, assessing if the zone is safe for operations, covering all matters in Coal Mining Safety and Health legislation
- Direct and oversee all personnel, systems and equipment within the mining zone
- Comply with, and audit compliance to, the Safety and Health Management System for the mine
- Record findings of inspections and other activities, and make them available to coal mine workers
About You
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- an underground statutory ticket - as minimum a Deputy's Certificate of Competency in Queensland
- demonstrated leadership skills and experience, supervising work teams in an underground environment
- strong written and verbal communication skills, with interpersonal skills allowing you to build relationships within your teams and across departments
- ability to communicate with disciplines at all levels and be capable of problem solving and working independently
Estimated Salary: AU$120,000 - AU$150,000 per annum
