Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Physical Testing Laboratory Technician. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for conducting various physical tests on coal samples, ensuring the accuracy and quality of results.

Our ideal candidate is a motivated and organized individual who is able to work independently and as part of a team. You should have a strong understanding of laboratory procedures and safety protocols.

  • Conduct physical tests on coal samples, including sample preparation, sizing, crushing, dividing, and storage.
  • Load and unload coal samples from various plant streams.
  • Transfer validated results into reporting systems.
  • Calibrate and maintain specialized equipment.
Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A valid driver's license.
  • A strong focus on safety, quality, and teamwork.
  • Strong numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Ability to organize work, multitask, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently without supervision.
  • Comfortable with safe manual handling duties, including repetitive lifting.
  • Competent within a strong safety culture.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new systems.
  • Previous coal sampling experience would be an advantage but not essential.
  • Flexible and able to perform shift work and weekend work as required.
