Purpose of the role

">Project Officer Community Engagement Role Summary

This position is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and skilled professional to join our team as a Project Officer in Community Engagement.

We are seeking an experienced individual who can build and maintain relationships with Aboriginal communities, support project management, community engagement program planning, event management, monitoring and reporting, and consultation and engagement with internal and external stakeholders.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Trust Board and other government and community stakeholders to deliver projects that progress the establishment and ongoing functions of the Aboriginal Languages Trust.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the needs of Aboriginal communities and be able to develop effective strategies to engage with them.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Building and maintaining relationships with Aboriginal communities and stakeholders
  • Supporting project management and community engagement program planning
  • Event management, monitoring and reporting
  • Consultation and engagement with internal and external stakeholders

The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be able to work effectively in a team environment.

">Requirements

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • A bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field such as community development, social sciences, or indigenous studies
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar role
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working with Aboriginal communities and stakeholders
