Solution Architect Role Overview

Be a key player in shaping the future of cloud-based data analytics by working as a Solution Architect. This role involves building expertise on cutting-edge data platforms and guiding customers through migration processes.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop technical knowledge of data platform ecosystems, including design, implementation, and optimization.
  • Work closely with customers to understand their business needs and provide guidance on leveraging data analytics for strategic decision-making.
  • Deploy data platforms following best practices, ensuring seamless knowledge transfer to customers and enabling them to extend platform capabilities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain deep understanding of competitive and complementary technologies, vendors, and market trends.
  • Mentor System Integrator consultants on technical aspects of data platform deployment and positioning.
  • Provide expert-level support to customers in resolving complex technical challenges related to data analytics.
  • Contribute to the growth and development of other team members by sharing expertise and best practices.

Requirements:
  • A minimum of 10 years' experience in pre-sales or post-sales technical roles, with a focus on customer-facing work.
  • Proven track record of migrating from one data platform to another, addressing unique challenges, and holistically managing the transition process.
  • University degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or related fields, or equivalent experience.
  • Exceptional presentation skills, capable of effectively communicating with both technical and executive audiences.
  • Deep understanding of the complete data analytics stack, encompassing ETL, data platform design, BI, and analytics tools.
  • Strong proficiency in databases, data warehouses, and data processing, with extensive hands-on experience in SQL and SQL analytics.
  • Experience selling data and/or analytics software to enterprise customers, including identifying key stakeholders, value propositions, and compelling events.
  • Familiarity with large-scale database technology, such as Netezza, Exadata, Teradata, Greenplum, etc.
  • Software development experience with C/C++, Java, and scripting skills in Python, Ruby, Perl, Bash.
  • Ability to travel extensively to work with customers on-site.

Bonus Points:
  • Experience with non-relational platforms and tools for large-scale data processing, such as Hadoop, HBase.
  • Familiarity with common BI and data exploration tools, like Microstrategy, Business Objects, Tableau.
  • Understanding of large-scale infrastructure-as-a-service platforms, e.g., Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, OpenStack.
  • Expertise in implementing ETL pipelines using custom and packaged tools.
  • Experience utilizing AWS services, such as S3, Kinesis, Elastic MapReduce, Data pipeline.
  • Success in selling enterprise SaaS software and proven track record in enterprise software sales.
