About the Role

This exciting opportunity is part of our Projects Division for Upstream Onshore Development Team, reporting to the Project Services Manager based in Brisbane.

The primary objective is to manage cost control related activities, supporting accurate CAPEX and OPEX management for the Onshore Drilling and Completions Team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Manage cost control activities including overhead distribution, project accruals, cost allocation reviews, earned value, and value of work done analysis.
  • Drive and maintain cost tracking accuracy through continuous review and feedback to the engineering team.
  • Ensure team-based alignment to and compliance against Onshore D&C management and audit standards, including cost estimation and cost control guidelines.
  • Oversee AFE, project funding requirements, and budget control points, interfacing proactively with the Finance team.
  • Facilitate business process audits to assess internal controls, implementing improvements where gaps and shortfalls are identified.
  • Mentor and engage team members to drive change and continuous improvement mindset.
  • Provide ad-hoc reporting and scenario analysis as required.
  • Compliance with the Management System (SMS), Delegation of Authority (DOA), and Corporate Governance and Safety requirements.

About You

We seek an experienced professional with:

  • Extensive experience in project services or business services.
  • Demonstrated experience in the oil and gas industry in leadership roles.
  • Direct responsibility for managing budgets over $250m p.a.
  • Proficiency in visualisation software, Microsoft Office, and large ERP systems.
  • Managing and motivating teams of professionals.
  • Experience supporting non-financial operational personnel and communicating clearly to stakeholders.
  • Exposure to managing complex data sets with attention to detail.

Ideally, you are degree qualified in accounting, commerce, engineering, or equivalent, with demonstrated ability to work in a team-based environment.
