About this role:

We are seeking a skilled caregiver to join our care team at a well-established facility offering beds with ensuites. The facility has a homely atmosphere that provides comfort to residents, including those living with dementia who require specialized support.

As a caregiver, you will work closely with residents to support their daily living, social, and emotional needs. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the well-being of residents by providing person-centered care and enhancing their quality of life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist residents with personal care needs like bathing, dental hygiene, dressing, grooming, and other personal care
  • Support residents in maintaining or restoring their independence by assisting with activities of interest and mobility aids as needed
  • Complete accurate and timely documentation, reporting relevant information to nursing, allied health, and management as required
  • Maintain effective workplace communication, demonstrating respect, openness to change, and kindness
  • Assist with medication administration in accordance with facility policies

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Certificate III in Individual Support or Aged Care (desired)
  • Experience working within an aged care setting as a caregiver
  • Ability to relate to elderly customers with empathy and collaborate effectively with health professionals, service providers, and case managers
  • Ability to interpret individual care plans and provide tailored care to meet individual goals
  • Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills
  • Understanding of cognitive strategies, social interaction, and meeting the mental and emotional health needs of residents
