Key skills and qualifications for this role include a strong understanding of plant operations, mechanical and electrical systems, and wastewater treatment processes. Experience in similar fields such as industrial plant maintenance or environmental remediation is highly regarded.

A proven track record in ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety regulations and guidelines is essential for this position. The ideal candidate will also possess excellent problem-solving skills, be proactive, and have a can-do attitude.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate and maintain the Shoal Bay Leachate Treatment Plant according to established procedures and protocols.
  • Conduct daily site inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure contractor performance meets expectations.
  • Prepare and deliver site inductions, toolbox talks, and safety briefings to all personnel.
  • Identify and manage safety hazards to ensure site compliance with WHS and environmental standards.
  • Coordinate deliveries, maintenance of heavy equipment, and site repairs to minimize downtime and optimize productivity.
  • Keep accurate site records, maintenance logs, and compliance documentation up-to-date.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and technical teams to achieve operational goals and objectives.
Requirements:
  • Mechanical, electrical, or plant operations experience (wastewater, water treatment, or industrial plant operations highly regarded).
  • Strong understanding of workplace health, safety, and environmental compliance.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive, can-do attitude.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks, contractors, and deadlines.
  • Willingness to obtain Certificate III in Waste Water Treatment Practices (if not already held).
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
