Field Cleaner Job Description

A field cleaner is responsible for ensuring a designated work site or area remains clean, safe and organised. This may involve various cleaning and maintenance tasks to support efficient and safe site operation.

  • Site Cleaning Responsibilities
    • Drive to different sites and clean and sanitise designated areas as required
    • Remove debris, trash and hazardous materials from the site
    • Sweep, mop and clean/disinfect surfaces and equipment

Key Accountabilities:

  • Waste Management and Disposal
    • Dispose of waste and recycling materials according to local regulations
    • Empty and maintain trash receptacles and recycling bins
  • Outdoor Area Maintenance (if applicable)
    • Maintain outdoor areas including walkways and equipment
  • Safety Compliance and Risk Management
    • Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe environment
    • Report any safety hazards or concerns to the supervisor
  • Equipment Inspection and Maintenance
    • Inspect and maintain cleaning equipment, tools and supplies
    • Report any malfunction or damage for repairs or replacements
  • Inventory Management and Organisation
    • Keep track of cleaning supplies and request replenishments as needed
    • Maintain an organised inventory of cleaning materials
  • Reporting and Documentation
    • Maintain records of cleaning activities, inspections and maintenance tasks
    • Document incidents or issues on-site and report to management

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Previous experience in cleaning or maintenance preferred
  • Knowledge of cleaning techniques, materials and equipment
  • Ability to work independently and follow instructions
  • Physical fitness and ability to lift and move heavy objects if required
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety
  • Full Australian driver's licence
  • Valid and recent police check
