Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Claims Consultant to join our team at TAL Australia.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the proactive management of a portfolio of life insurance claims, adhering to external regulations and company procedures. This role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent communication and customer service skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage a portfolio of life insurance claims in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements.
  2. Adhere to external regulations and company policies, including the Life Insurance Code of Practice.
  3. Ensure all interactions with customers, advisers, and other stakeholders are of high quality and compliant.
  4. Contribute to departmental and company projects as required.
  5. Gather and interpret relevant information to form an appropriate claims strategy.
  6. Determine correct benefit entitlements and ensure timely payment in accordance with policy terms and conditions.
  7. Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders, including Technical Specialists and Recovery & Support Specialists.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Experience in a similar claims management role in the Financial Services or Insurance Industry.
  • Able to build rapport and empathy with customers during difficult times.
  • Advanced time management and prioritisation skills.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Business, Commerce, Health, or Allied Health (desirable).
  • Diploma or Cert IV in Life Insurance, or equivalent (desirable).
