Estimating Manager Job Description

Design & Build Recruitment is partnering with a leading National Subcontractor to find an experienced Estimating Manager to join their team in Western Sydney.

This is an immediate requirement to work alongside the current incumbent who is retiring. The successful candidate will lead the department and report directly to the General Manager.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the preparation of accurate cost estimates
  • Collaborate with project managers to review estimates for accuracy and completeness
  • Liaise with suppliers and contractors to obtain quotes and competitive pricing
  • Follow up active leads and tenders
  • Provide assistance to the estimating team with daily queries and provide orders
  • Prepare contract variations
  • Develop sales strategies to achieve revenue targets
  • Lead and mentor the team, providing training and support

The ideal candidate will have previous experience as an Estimator within the Construction Industry at a Managing or Lead Level. A tertiary qualification relevant to the role within the construction or engineering industry is also desirable.

Strong computer skills, software skills, and CRM systems are essential. A good eye for detail and knowledge of Australian Construction Standards are also required.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a leading National Subcontractor and take on a key leadership role in their estimating department.
