Job Title:

Develop and Implement Internal Communication Initiatives

About the Role:

As an Internal Communications Specialist, you will be responsible for creating engaging and informative content for use across the organisation's internal communication channels.

You will support the implementation of the organisation's Strategic Plan to realise its vision and ensure that its members know what the organisation stands for, what it does, and want to be involved as a member.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Copywriting, editing, and publishing diverse and engaging written or visual content across the organisation's internal communication channels.
  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to collate content for use across platforms.
  • Undertaking change management tasks including stakeholder engagement.
  • Collaborating with members of the Program Management Office (PMO) to identify, schedule, draft, and issue required communications.
  • Moderating user-generated content and recommending actions/next steps.
  • Tracking and analysing data to gain insight on traffic and effectiveness and using this information to report and positively affect future outcomes.
  • Being the digital media champion - helping grow internal knowledge and expertise. Monitoring trends and playing a pivotal advisory role.
  • Participating in all team meetings and supporting the activities of the organisation including representation at events and Marketing and Fundraising activities as a team member.

Experience and Skills:

  • 3+ years' experience in internal or change communications.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with digital content creation and vendor management.
  • Advanced strategic copywriting skills.
  • Experience working with a diverse range of stakeholder demographics.
  • Tech-savvy and deep knowledge of user experience and hands-on experience transforming user engagement.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess and manage high volume workflow, including the need to identify and escalate issues.
  • Experience in collaborating in a small team, specifically demonstrating initiative & prioritisation to resolve issues.
  • Previous experience with WordPress (or other web platforms), Dynamics 365, and graphic design platforms.

Qualifications:

Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field such as communications, marketing or extensive experience as an internal communications specialist preferably within the not-for-profit or government sector.
