Sanctions Compliance Officer Role

The Sanctions Compliance Officer plays a critical role in ensuring the organization's adherence to international sanctions policies and regulations.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide strategic advice on sanctions policies and implementation, driving business growth while minimizing risk.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive sanctions risk assessments, analyzing complex data sets to inform business decisions and monitor emerging trends.
  • Oversee content updates and reconciliations for local lists, ensuring accuracy and consistency across systems.
  • Serve as an escalation point for alerts against local lists, coordinating with stakeholders to resolve issues efficiently.
  • Build and maintain relationships with regulatory bodies, fostering a culture of compliance and collaboration.
  • Contribute to new business initiatives and complex transactions, providing expert guidance on sanctions implications and mitigation strategies.
  • Monitor adherence to sanctions policies and procedures, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Lead by example, promoting a culture of compliance within front-line units and influencing organizational behavior.
Requirements
  • Expertise in Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Sanctions regulations, with a strong understanding of Compliance laws and regulations.
  • Self-starter with flexibility, innovation, and adaptability, able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with collaborative and independent work abilities.
  • Advanced analytical and project management skills, with experience in managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field, such as Law, Finance, or International Relations.
