The Senior Tax Accountant role is a dynamic position that plays a critical part in the organisation's indirect tax compliance and reporting requirements. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for managing the preparation of the monthly GST return for Australia, ensuring ongoing compliance with regulatory and tax risk management frameworks.
Responsibilities- Manage indirect tax compliance and reporting for the organisation, including preparation of the monthly GST return for Australia.
- Ensure adherence to the regulatory and tax risk management framework.
- Contribute to enhancement activities and continuous improvement initiatives, executing business line initiatives such as applying tax law changes.
We are seeking an experienced tax professional with a proven track record in a tax or accounting role. Ideal candidates will have gained experience within a medium to large chartered accounting firm or a large commercial organisation. Experience within the Australian financial services sector is highly desirable. The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of corporate tax reporting requirements, including GST, fringe benefits tax, and payroll tax. They will be able to produce accurate work and deliver reliable results under tight deadlines, complemented by excellent planning and prioritisation skills.
About YouCandidates will be numerate, detail-oriented, data-driven, and adept at extracting and communicating key insights to support decision-making. They will hold a tertiary qualification in Business or Commerce and be a member of a recognised professional Accounting and/or Tax association. Strong stakeholder relationships and the ability to communicate tax issues clearly to diverse audiences are essential.
