Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Education Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will work under the direction of classroom teachers to ensure students with additional needs are effectively supported in achieving their educational goals.

As an Education Assistant, you will be responsible for guiding and supporting our team of Education Assistants, modeling, mentoring and coaching colleagues in the delivery of planned education programs.

The successful applicant should employ best practice strategies, provide constructive feedback, foster a collaborative and relational team culture that builds capacity and confidence across both Special Needs and Mainstream Education Assistants.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, the ability to build positive professional relationships with staff, students and families, and a strong commitment to inclusive education.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Delivery of education programs and behaviour management plans;
  • Ability to identify problems and assist teachers and other Education Assistants in developing strategies;
  • Well developed oral communication and interpersonal skills, including leadership, mentoring, coaching and training others;
  • Well developed written communication skills, including report writing, and the ability to coordinate, collect and present student data at a whole school level;
  • Well developed organisational skills, including rostering and relief coordination to assist in delivering effective education programs.
