Job Description
As a Child Protection Caseworker, your primary role will be to respond to reports of potential harm or risk to children and young people. This involves working sensitively and respectfully with clients, developing safety plans, conducting risk assessments, and collaborating with other professionals to achieve positive outcomes.
You will also be responsible for managing complex cases, attending court proceedings, and participating in supervision sessions. Your ability to build strong relationships, communicate effectively, and navigate challenging situations will be crucial in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work collaboratively with clients, families, and other agencies to develop and implement safety plans
- Conduct thorough risk assessments and manage complex cases
- Attend court proceedings and prepare relevant documentation
- Participate in individual and group supervision to ensure ongoing professional development
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A degree in Social Work, Social Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A valid driver's license and paid Working with Children clearance number
