About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Behaviour Support Assistant to join our team at one of our primary schools in Swindon. This is a full-time position that requires your availability from Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide Individualised Support: Offer tailored support to students displaying challenging behaviour, helping them manage their emotions and make positive choices.
  2. Implement Behaviour Management Strategies: Implement behaviour management strategies outlined by the school, utilizing positive reinforcement techniques, and promoting self-regulation skills.
  3. Build Strong Relationships: Build strong relationships with students based on trust, respect, and understanding, supporting their academic and emotional development.
  4. Collaborate with School Staff: Collaborate closely with teachers and school staff to develop and implement behaviour support plans, providing feedback on the effectiveness of interventions.
  5. Manage Challenging Situations: Handle challenging situations and use appropriate de-escalation techniques to manage disruptive behaviour when necessary.
Requirements
  1. Proven Experience: Proven experience dealing with challenging behaviour in a school setting.
  2. Resilience and Good-Humoured Nature: Resilience and a good-humoured nature to navigate the demands of supporting students with challenging behaviour.
  3. Ability to Build Relationships: Ability to build strong and positive relationships with students, fostering trust and engagement.
  4. Availability: Availability for full-time work from Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm.
  5. Relevant Qualifications: Relevant qualifications and certifications are desirable but not essential.
