Cloud Network Professional

The role of Cloud Network Professional is a pivotal position within an organisation, requiring the implementation and management of cloud-based network systems. This individual will be responsible for ensuring seamless integration with Microsoft 365 and Azure platforms, enhancing the overall network infrastructure and contributing to digital transformation initiatives.

This dynamic role blends project-based work with ongoing support for day-to-day network operations, guaranteeing the integrity, security, and performance of network systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Cloud Migration: Implementing and managing cloud-based solutions to optimise network systems.
  • Network Security: Ensuring best practices are followed for network security and performance monitoring.
  • Backup & Recovery: Supporting backup and disaster recovery processes in line with organisational ICT disaster recovery plans.
  • Network Maintenance: Performing regular maintenance, including system patches and updates, to ensure continuous performance optimisation.
Required Skills:
  • Cloud Engineering: Strong technical background in managing cloud-based infrastructure, including LAN/WAN routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Microsoft 365 & Azure: Knowledge of integrating and supporting Microsoft 365 tools, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and Azure.
  • Security Protocols: Expertise in implementing and managing network security measures, including firewalls, VPNs, and IDS/IPS.
  • Network Monitoring: Proficiency in using network management tools, such as SolarWinds PRTG, for performance monitoring and troubleshooting.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Cloud Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Certifications: Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA/CCNP, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in cloud engineering, particularly in cloud integrations and network optimisation.
  • Industry Experience: Experience within a government or similarly-sized public sector organisation is preferred.
