Specialist Physician - Gastroenterology

Join our team as a Specialist Physician in Gastroenterology at Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified and experienced Specialist Physician to join our dynamic team of healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities

As a Specialist Physician, you will be responsible for providing clinical management and treatment of patients within ISLHD. This will include consultation and procedural services in Gastroenterology.

The department works closely with subspecialties including upper GIT surgery and colorectal surgery, with regular departmental clinical meetings where clinical cases are reviewed with radiology and histology, and as part of UGIT Oncology MDT.

Requirements
  • Applicable vaccination requirements for Category A
  • Working With Children Check (WWCC)
  • Current AHPRA Registration and Fellowship with Royal Australian College of Physicians (FRACP)
  • Valid NSW Drivers Licence
Eligibility Notes

Advanced Trainees expecting to receive Fellowship of the RACP within 6 months may be considered for this role.

Work Environment

Wollongong Hospital is ISLHD's major referral and teaching hospital. Wollongong is located about an hour's drive south of Sydney, with diverse inpatient, outpatient and community services.
