Overview

We're inviting applications for zero hours reliever positions in Gastroenterology for Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District (ISLHD).

Role: Visiting Medical Officer | Zero hours reliever | Gastroenterology - ISLHD | REQ563787 | Applications close: Tuesday 16 September 2025.

Responsibilities

The Gastroenterologist will provide clinical management and treatment of patients within ISLHD. In the scope of practice granted by the Medical and Dental Appointments Advisory Committee. To provide consultation and procedural services in Gastroenterology. The department works closely with sub-specialties including upper GIT surgery and colorectal surgery, with regular departmental clinical meetings where clinical cases are reviewed with radiology and histology, and as part of UGIT Oncology MDT.

Department Context

The Gastroenterology Department includes regular work in a department of 11 Staff Specialists and collaborates with multiple subspecialties. Regular clinical meetings and MDTs support patient care.

Qualifications and Requirements
  • Applicable vaccination requirements for Category A
  • Working With Children Check (WWCC)
  • Current AHPRA Registration and Fellowship with Royal Australian College of Physicians (FRACP)
  • Valid NSW Drivers Licence
Eligibility Notes

Advanced Trainees expecting to receive Fellowship of the RACP within 6 months may be considered for this role.
