About the Role

We are seeking an experienced professional to join our National Security team, at our Sydney Airport catering facility. A great opportunity exists as a Security and Compliance Officer.

This role involves providing administrative support to the National Security and Compliance Manager, working closely with operations teams, and providing professional support to assist with ABF and Aviation Security compliance from an administration point of view.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide Administrative Support: Assist the National Security and Compliance Manager in managing day-to-day tasks and ensuring seamless operations.
  • ABF and Aviation Security Compliance: Provide updates on ABF B301 and B1555 requirements and maintain staff lists for our SYD workforce.
  • Security Identification Services: Assist in the management of security identification services, including ID Access requests, onboarding, offboarding at Port level.
  • National Criminal History Checks: Assist in the compliance of National Criminal History checks and ensure accurate records are maintained.
  • Workplace Security Investigations: Assist in workplace security investigations and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Security Performance Monitoring: Monitor security performance and work with external auditors and internal teams to ensure legal compliance, best practice, and continual improvement.
  • New Staff Inductions: Participate in new staff inductions and ensure all employees are aware of the Security requirements of the business and individuals employed within it.
  • Security Systems Network and Manpower Requirements: Manage security systems network and manpower requirements of the SYD facilities.
  • Internal and External Audits: Conduct monthly internal security audits and coordinate external safety audits.
  • Australian Border Force Compliance: Maintain contact database for Australian Border Force compliance and issue monthly compliance reports to key stakeholders and management.
Requirements:
  • Experience in Customs and ATO Warehouse License Applications: Proven experience in customs and ATO warehouse license applications is essential for this role.
  • Strong Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment are must-haves for this position.
  • CCTV and Access Control Systems: Experience in CCTV and access control systems is preferred but not necessary.
  • Electronic Document Management System (EDMS): Familiarity with EDMS and ability to manage electronic documents efficiently is highly desirable.
  • Prioritization and Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work under conflicting time pressures is essential.
  • Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills: Sound analytical and problem-solving skills, along with negotiation and communication skills, are required for this role.
  • Cert IV in Workplace Training and Assessment: Certification in workplace training and assessment is advantageous but not necessary.
  • National Police Check: A clear National Police Check is required for this position.
