Lead Artist - Asset Creation

The Build Supervisor leads the technical and creative efforts of a team towards asset completion. You will communicate with other departments to find efficient methods for creating assets that meet show needs, ensuring they're ready for the VFX pipeline: shot preparation and rigging, rendering resourcefully in-line with our pipeline.

You will develop pipeline processes with the Head of Build and Pipeline team to improve operational efficiency.

A key aspect of your role is leading and mentoring your team through technical and creative challenges. This ensures only the best quality assets are delivered by your team in all aspects of asset creation. You will lead by example, guiding your team on-the-spot, as well as through planned training schemes implemented with our trainers, to meet briefs set by the VFX Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • 10+ years high-end feature film VFX experience
  • Proven team supervision experience over build artists
  • Broad range of build-discipline knowledge with modelling, texturing and look development experience
  • Extensive 3D software experience - ideally Maya, Mari, Zbrush, Nuke
  • Critical eye for detail and strong visual abilities
  • Experience with rendering
  • Ability to communicate visual aspects to your team
  • Deadline-driven with high-quality work

  • Surfacing and Grooming experience
  • Department management experience
