We are seeking a dedicated Quality Assurance Officer to join our team. This role involves monitoring and ensuring the quality of asphalt materials and placement on-site, assisting with compaction testing, temperature checks, and layer thickness tracking, documenting and reporting test results clearly and accurately, helping implement and maintain QA procedures and compliance with specifications, using digital tools and apps to streamline reporting and workflow, working closely with supervisors, operators, and external testers with professionalism and confidence.
Key responsibilities include:
- Monitoring and ensuring the quality of asphalt materials and placement on-site
- Assisting with compaction testing, temperature checks, and layer thickness tracking
- Documenting and reporting test results clearly and accurately
- Helping implement and maintain QA procedures and compliance with specifications
- Using digital tools and apps to streamline reporting and workflow
The ideal candidate will have:
- Great organisation and time management skills – you’ll be juggling a few things at once
- A current driver’s licence
- A White Card (Construction Induction Card)
- Confidence and respect when dealing with authority
- Confident using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
- A strong team player with a positive, can-do attitude
- Sharp attention to detail and a proactive approach to solving problems
- Some knowledge of quality systems would be a bonus, but we’re happy to train the right person
- Great communication skills
- Keenness to learn, quick adaptability, and a willingness to get hands-on
