Payroll Specialist

This role will support the payroll function for more than 1000 employees, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail in following internal procedures while complying with governing legislative frameworks.

  • Accurate and timely processing of fortnightly payroll for wages employees and salaried staff is essential.
  • Maintaining employee Master Data by entering information for new starters and terminations, and processing any changes to terms and conditions of employment to ensure validity of payroll data is a key responsibility.
  • Processing/inputting all fortnightly timesheet entries requires strong analytical skills.
  • Developing a solid understanding of employment conditions in relation to applicable Enterprise Agreements and/or Employment Contracts is crucial to ensure payments are made in accordance with relevant policies and legislative requirements.
  • Providing timely and accurate information to queries received from internal and external stakeholders is vital.
  • Preparing accurate payroll reports as required (i.e. End of Month and End of Financial Year) is an important aspect of this role.
  • Preparing termination calculations as required demonstrates a high level of professionalism.
  • Taking a proactive approach to innovation and continuous improvement processes is encouraged.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of payroll processing experience in a similar position within a large organisation is preferred.
  • Excellent computer and administration skills are necessary.
  • High proficiency in data entry and management, working with high attention to detail is essential.
  • Strong written, verbal interpersonal communication skills are required.
  • Ability to prioritise work commitments and work under pressure to meet deadlines is crucial.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships are vital.
  • Excellent ethical and professional standards are expected.
