Process Optimization Specialist

Prysmian Group, the largest global cable manufacturer, is seeking an experienced Process Engineer to join our team in Liverpool.

This role reports to the Process Engineering Manager and involves working closely with cross-functional teams to improve process efficiency and quality.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Compliance and Safety: Ensure adherence to Health, Safety and Environmental systems and procedures.
  2. Process Design and Implementation: Design, implement, and optimize processes to meet production requirements and improve existing processes.
  3. Operational Management: Manage daily operations, analyze data, and lead continuous improvement activities to enhance productivity and quality.
  4. Capability Development: Develop and upgrade process capability, tooling, and machine performance for yield improvement, safety, cost, and productivity.
  5. Quality Control: Test and approve new materials introduced into the cable manufacturing process and investigate non-conforming materials and/or processes.
  6. Customer Support: Investigate customer complaints jointly with QA department.
  7. Documentation and Training: Provide process documentation, operating instructions, and technical support regarding the cable manufacturing process. Train operators, promote safe working practices, and methodologies.
  8. Equipment Sourcing: Source equipment, parts, and supplies, and prepare capital investment proposals.
  9. Quality Standards: Maintain and follow quality standards in production according to Company Quality policies and regulations.
  10. Process Oversight: Oversee processes and maintain optimization of the production line.
  11. Troubleshooting: Assist Process Technicians in troubleshooting and present data and reports to senior colleagues and management.
  12. Material Optimization: Report monthly on material over-usage and make recommendations for improvement.
  13. Process Efficiency: Develop and maintain procedures for improving process efficiencies and provide technical support for Manufacturing.
  14. New Product Development: Actively contribute to new product development for cables and problem-solve and troubleshoot processes.
  15. Best Practices: Develop best practices, routines, and innovative solutions to improve production rates and quality of output.
  16. Lean Initiatives: Implement lean initiatives to build a continuous improvement culture.
