This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining security solutions for a local council. The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Cyber to identify areas for improvement and implement new security measures and technologies to mitigate risks.
- Design and implement a secure architecture that protects the council's infrastructure, assets, and data.
- Develop models and plans to drive the execution of the business strategy, taking advantage of opportunities to improve business performance.
- Evaluate and select security vendors and manage security relationships with third-party providers.
- Provide advice and guidance on security strategies to manage identified risks and ensure adoption and adherence to standards.
Key Requirements
- 3 to 5 years of specialised skills and experience in information security.
- Local council experience is highly regarded.
- Ability to develop architecture security.
- Understanding of Cyber and IT risk management principles and the ability to assess and prioritise cybersecurity risks in the context of asset and data protection.
- Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, ISSAP, or equivalent are highly desirable.
- Strong experience of engaging with business users and understanding their security requirements.
