A leading accounting firm based in Australia, Vista Tax and Accounting Pty Ltd offers high-quality tax and accounting services to numerous clients. We are currently seeking an experienced Financial Excellence Lead to join our team. This role involves overseeing financial planning, budgeting, and reporting to ensure the company's financial health and compliance with Australian regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Planning and Analysis

Develop and execute the annual budget process, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic objectives.

Prepare financial forecasts and analyses to support decision-making and long-term planning.

Analyze financial results compared to budgets and forecasts, providing valuable insights and recommendations.

2. Financial Reporting

Prepare and submit financial reports in compliance with Australian Accounting Standards and regulations.

Prepare and present accurate financial reports, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets.

3. Cash Flow Management

Manage and monitor cash flow to ensure sufficient liquidity for operational needs and growth initiatives.

4. Risk Management

Identify and assess financial risks, implementing strategies to mitigate exposure.

Establish and maintain effective internal controls to protect company assets and ensure financial integrity.

5. Financial Controls & Compliance

Verify all transactions posted to the financial system are complete, accurate, and classified to the correct cost centers prior to final approval.

Budget controls on all outgoings and expenditures.

Develop, enhance, and control financial transactions to ensure they are supported by adequate documentation.

Ensure financial policy and procedures are implemented and all financial operations comply with these policies.

6. Team Leadership, Development & Management

Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions.

Identify training needs and provide professional development opportunities for team members.

Lead and develop the finance team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.

7. System and Process

Oversee, develop, and manage financial systems and tools to ensure they support accurate reporting and efficient operations.

Identify opportunities for process enhancements and implement best practices in financial operations.

Requirements:

Financial Statements, Financial Reporting, and Budgeting skills

Experience in Finance and strong Analytical Skills

Knowledge of financial systems and reporting processes

Attention to detail and accuracy in financial data analysis

Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting

Relevant Diploma, Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field

Familiar with Xero, QuickBooks Online, and Excel

At least 5 years of experience in a finance manager position

Salary: $85,000 per annum
