Acknowledge Education is a leading training provider with campuses throughout Australia offering a variety of courses in multiple industries. Our mission: Equip students to achieve their goals through quality education.

As an Academic Support Liaison, your salary will be AU$55,000 - AU$65,000 per year.

This permanent part-time position works full days on Mondays and Tuesdays and half days on Wednesdays. Your primary roles are to assist students with their academic needs ranging from developing academic skills to communication requirements and processing Academic Misconduct cases according to our policy and procedures.

About the Role
  • You will assess student's academic needs and devise learning plans to support them in achieving their study goals.
  • You will provide workshops to students to enhance their awareness of academic integrity and improve their academic skills.
  • You will process Academic Misconduct cases according to our policies and procedures.
  • You will attend Student Support Services meetings and report to the Academic Support Team Leader.
  • You will work individually and as a team member to achieve the Academic Support Team goals.
  • You will monitor the ongoing educational progress of students-at-risk, collaborate with educators and staff including handling student intervention plans.
  • You will ensure students meet the requirements outlined in their study plans by due dates.
  • You will refer students to internal support services.
  • You will provide data and metrics to the Academic Support Team Leader for required reporting regarding academic support services including face-to-face support, online support, workshops delivered and assessments of breaches of academic integrity.
  • You will participate in quality improvement processes including responding to student and staff evaluation and feedback.

  • You must have strong relationship-building skills establishing strong connections with staff and students of our community.
  • You should be able to work towards goals in a fast-paced environment.
  • You need solid time management and prioritization.
  • You must be able to follow related policies and procedures when assisting students and processing Academic Misconduct cases.
  • You should have a continuous improvement mindset improving teaching methods and willingness to use technology or other innovative strategies for teaching, learning and engaging students.
  • You must have strong collaboration skills and ability to contribute to professional collaborations and academic administration.
  • You should have experience working with students from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
  • You need effective communication skills, both orally and in writing.
  • You should have strong MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel skills.
Qualifications
  • You must have a Master's degree in TESOL, Education or equivalent.
  • You should have relevant tertiary teaching experience or academic support with a track record of demonstrable teaching achievements and positive results.
  • You must have recent work practice experience and understanding of theory and practice of teaching and learning and academic integrity.
  • You should be able to learn quickly how to use learning and management tools and platforms such as Moodle, Mesh.
