Job Title: Education Associate

Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Education Associate to join our team. As an Education Associate, you will provide support to teachers in implementing and assessing educational programs for students with moderate to severe intellectual disabilities.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assist teachers in preparing classroom materials and maintaining a tidy learning environment
  • Supervise students during classes and playground activities, ensuring their safety and well-being
  • Report observations of students to teachers and contribute to the implementation of behaviour support plans
  • Provide personal care and attendant services to students, including toileting, meal-time support, and hygiene
  • Accompany teachers on excursions and assist with loading and unloading students from transport

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment and build strong relationships with colleagues
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to connect with students who have intellectual disabilities
  • Understanding of behaviour management principles and a commitment to creating a positive learning environment
  • Ongoing professional development and a willingness to apply new knowledge and skills in the workplace
