With rapid growth, the company is seeking a skilled professional to join its Digital team in Melbourne or Brisbane.
About this role
As a Cyber Threat Defender, you will report to the Head of Cyber Security and be responsible for implementing and managing advanced threat protection solutions.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor and respond to cyber security tickets and alerts, providing remediation guidance and regular reports.
- Lead vulnerability assessments, analyse and prioritise vulnerabilities, develop remediation plans and update the vulnerability management program.
- Implement and manage advanced threat protection solutions, respond to security alerts and incidents, conduct threat intelligence analysis and maintain incident response plans.
- Support internal information security compliance activities including audits, evidence gathering and assessment periods.
- Perform regular penetration testing, document findings, provide recommendations and collaborate with teams to remediate vulnerabilities.
- Support the Cloud Security Specialist in conducting technical security assessments of cloud environments and infrastructure and implement security controls and best practices for cloud and on-premises infrastructure.
Requirements
- A broad understanding of firewalls, proxies and network topology management.
- Experience with security tools such as SIEM|XDR, DLP, SSE, CASB, EDR and Vulnerability Management.
- Familiarity with Frameworks, such as ISO 27001, NIST, MITRE, OWASP, Essential 8 & DevSecOps practices and tools.
- A foundational understanding of programming and scripting languages, including Python, PowerShell for automation.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud.
Estimated salary: AU$90,000 - AU$120,000 per annum.
