Sustainability Leadership Role

The Director of Sustainability Governance will be responsible for shaping a comprehensive sustainability strategy and ensuring compliance with evolving regulatory requirements.

This is a high-impact role that requires expertise in emerging reporting and compliance requirements, as well as experience in stakeholder engagement and project management.

The successful candidate will have a demonstrated track record of success in sustainability compliance, reporting, and governance roles, and will be able to make trade-offs and articulate clear recommendations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Compliance readiness: Prepare the organization for emerging mandatory sustainability compliance requirements (e.g. CSRD, CSDDD, ASRS).
  • Sustainability governance and disclosures: Drive the sustainability team's governance pillar portfolio, including closing gaps for emerging governance requirements and managing reporting frameworks.
  • Cross-functional program management: Drive programs and projects end-to-end with stakeholders across the organization, including translating and synthesizing outside legal advice and consultant deliverables.

Qualifications include:

  • Demonstrated track record of success in sustainability compliance, reporting, and governance roles.
  • Expertise in emerging reporting and compliance requirements (CSRD, CSDDD, ASRS, etc.) and voluntary reporting frameworks (e.g. ISSB, SASB, TCFD, ESRS).
  • Experience using stakeholder engagement, interpersonal, communications, and influencing skills to drive change, lead complex projects, and get things done with limited authority.
