Ambitious Technical Leader Sought to Drive Workday Excellence

This is a senior role leading and coaching a cross-functional engineering team behind Canva's Workday Platform. As an accomplished technical leader, you will define the technical strategy, architecture, and delivery cadence across Workday systems.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Define the technical strategy, architecture, and delivery cadence across Workday systems
  • Partner with leaders in People, Finance, Security, and Audit to deliver secure, scalable solutions
  • Oversee solution architecture, integration governance, testing, and release workflows
  • Owning Workday integrations and driving platform-wide engineering excellence
  • Elevate service reliability, documentation, observability, and overall quality
  • Build a trusted, inclusive team culture with strong craft and shared outcomes

You will be responsible for:

  • Leading cross-functional technical teams in systems/platform engineering
  • Deep, hands-on Workday experience including architecture, integrations, and delivery cycles
  • Working in regulated environments (SOX, ITGC, Payroll, Audit)
  • Experience with Workday integration tooling such as Studio, EIB, and API/event-driven architecture
  • Bridging technical and business perspectives with ease
  • Building high-trust cultures where people are empowered, accountable, and growing fast
  • Shaping the future of business-critical platforms at scale
