Davidson is a leading provider of recruitment and staffing services to the public sector. With a strong focus on delivering exceptional results, we are seeking an experienced Chief Public Sector Accounting Specialist to join our team.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Australian Accounting Standards and a proven track record of working with not-for-profit and government entities. They will be responsible for assisting in the technical drafting of financial reporting standards, analysing stakeholder feedback, and supporting outreach activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting in the development of Service Performance Reporting principles and requirements.
  • Identifying necessary adaptations for the application of international standards within the Australian context.
  • Analysing stakeholder feedback and drafting staff papers to inform members on potential modifications to existing standards.
  • Supporting outreach and engagement activities with key stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Manager-level experience in the not-for-profit or government sector.
  • Extensive knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and their application by NFP entities.
  • A subject matter expert in explaining differences between IPSASB pronouncements and IFRS Accounting Standards.
  • A subject matter expert in applying the Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) in the public sector.
