Job Summary

We are currently seeking an experienced Security Architect to join our client, a local council, on an initial 3-month temporary contract.

About the Role

The Security Architect will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining security solutions to protect the council's infrastructure, assets, and data. Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and implementing a secure architecture that protects the council's infrastructure, assets, and data.
  • Developing models and plans to drive the execution of the business strategy, taking advantage of opportunities to improve business performance.
  • Evaluating and selecting security vendors and managing security relationships with third-party providers.
  • Providing advice and guidance on security strategies to manage identified risks and ensure adoption and adherence to standards.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in information security, preferably in a local government environment.
  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity risk management principles and the ability to assess and prioritise cybersecurity risks.
  • Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, ISSAP, or Microsoft Cybersecurity Architect are highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with business users and understand their security requirements.

Salary and Benefits

The successful candidate will receive a competitive hourly rate of $100-$110 per hour, plus superannuation. Our client offers a hybrid working arrangement, with 3 days spent in the office. The position is located in Northern Melbourne Suburbs.
