Childcare Kitchen Assistant

We are seeking an experienced and passionate individual to join our culinary team as a Childcare Kitchen Assistant. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in creating nutritious and delicious meals that cater to the diverse tastes and dietary requirements of young children.

In this rewarding position, you will work closely with our experienced Chef to prepare and present a variety of snacks and meals. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with Educators and Teachers to integrate food into the learning experience, promoting creativity, imagination, and curiosity among our students.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with meal preparation and presentation for children and Educators
  • Ensure each meal respects individual requirements regarding medical conditions, food preferences, and cultural considerations
  • Build strong relationships with the centre Chef, children, educators, families, and the entire centre community
  • Maintain best practice food safety and hygienic standards
Requirements:
  • Food Handling certificate
  • Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (desirable)
  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or working towards (desirable)
  • Awareness of personal responsibilities under current Child Protection Laws
  • Current Working with Children's Check or state equivalent
